Further reading The ASM 1945–1975 was approved on 22 February 1995, published in CAG S122 dated 3 April 1995. The ASM 1945–1975 may be awarded for service in, or in connection with, a prescribed operation during the period commencing on 3 September 1945 and ending on 16 September 1975. It is a unique Australian award and is not awarded to foreign personnel. Design The ASM 1945–1975 is a circular nickel-silver medal 38 mm in diameter, ensigned with the Crown of St Edward. The obverse has Commonwealth Coat of Arms surrounded by the legend ‘THE ASM 1945–1975’. The reverse has a Federation Star overlaid with a rectangular plaque for recipient’s details. Ribbon The ASM 1945-75 ribbon 32 mm wide, with a central thin yellow stripe flanked by narrow green stripes, flanked by khaki with wide navy blue stripe at the left and pale blue at the right. These colours represent Australia’s national colours and the ribbon of the earlier ASM 1939–1945. Clasps
