The Meteor first entered regular service in 1951. It served with distinction in the Korean War
with 77 Sqn and the last sortie was flown with 75 Sqn in 1963.
These aircraft were still used by the RAAF School of Technical Training as training aids in
the early 1970’s when my old man went through Engine Fitter training.

This photo from our collection shows one of the RAAF's original Hercules 'A' Models A97-209 flying over Sydney. The 'A' Models were delivered to the RAAF between 1958 and 1959 and served with distinction until 1978 when they were replaced by the Hercules 'H' Model.
